Cesium, iodine and tritium in NW Pacific waters – a comparison of the Fukushima impact with global fallout(Aug 15, 2013) - Compares Radionuclide impact of the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant accident in seawater of the NW Pacific Ocean against the global fallout from atmospheric tests of nuclear weapons. Surface and deep water samples were taken, looking for Cesium-134, Cesium-137, Iodine-129 and Hydrogen-3. Concentrations of Cesium-134 were 1000x the "global fallout background", Cesium-137 at 50x, and so forth. Indications are that radionuclides have already transported downward to depths at or below 300 meters. (PDF)

Evaluation of radiation doses and associated risk from the Fukushima nuclear accident to marine biota and human consumers of seafood In mid-2011 some scientists detected trace amounts of Cesium-137 and other radioactive material in Bluefin Tuna caught off San Diego. The concentrations were indicative that the radiation came from Fukushima. From this they were able to learn more about the migratory habits of Bluefin Tuna. The concentration found was very low, barely detectable, but floating around the Internet is much writing blowing this way out of proportion and making it sound like the end of the world.
